The 17th Pass’Portes du Soleil MTB is postponed until 2021

Due to the global outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19), the organisers of Pass’Portes 2020 have made the difficult decision to postpone the event until 25-27 June 2021. In parallel, the MTB Show will be held at the same time in the resort of Les Gets.

On 8 April 2020 during lockdown, the decision was made to postpone Pass’Portes 2020 to late August 2020. The original event was supposed to take place from 26-28 June 2020. However, today (6 July 2020) it was decided to push the event back to June 2021.

Although the organisers from the partner resorts in France and Switzerland tried to keep the event in their calendars, it was decided to delay Pass’Portes until 2021 to make sure it was the successful, sociable, fun ride it should be.

In previous years, Pass’Portes would highlight the delicious local gastronomy at various feeding stations; with the current strict health measures in place, it would not be the exhilarating event it normally is.

While very disappointing, Les Portes du Soleil hopes riders understand this is a necessary step in these unprecedented times.

But there is some good news! The International Association of Portes du Soleil, organiser of Pass’Portes, will provide every registered participant for the 2020 event with a Portes du Soleil MTB Pass, available to use for one day, anytime during this summer season; a perfect opportunity for riders to enjoy the French-Swiss area. Plus, every registration for 2020 will be transferred to 2021.
