Pierre & Vacances readies for summer 2021 with new French product

2020 was a challenging year for all of us, and for many that also meant no holiday at all. As we look ahead to better times, that means planning that first big getaway, reconnecting with loved ones and making the most of the great outdoors. With Pierre & Vacances, guests can opt for a great value self-catering holiday, with more than 380 properties to choose from worldwide, including over 75 locations in France by the sea, and more than 55 properties in the French Alps. As the operator prepares to welcome back spring and summer guests, Pierre & Vacances is delighted to announce the opening of two new coastal residences in France, as well as the completion of major expansion works at its flagship Normandy property.

The five-star Pierre & Vacances premium residence Presqu’Ile de la Touques opened in 2018 and is located between the beautiful French coastal towns of Deauville and Trouville in Normandy. Situated within the site is a Nineteenth Century customs building (Le Bâtiment des Douanes), where significant works have been taking place to convert the structure into accommodation. The 28 new apartments are set to welcome guests from July of this this year and will accommodate between two and six people each. Retaining many original architectural features, the apartments are stylishly decorated and boast elegant fixtures and comfortable furnishings. From here, guests can enjoy full access to the existing residence, with a 24-hour reception, cardio training space, free to use sauna and hammam, a Deep Nature Spa® and both an indoor and outdoor pool. There is also free parking, as well as a breakfast restaurant serving up local produce. Nearby Deauville is renowned for its grand casino and white sandy beach, while Trouville is a traditional, but lively fishing port with galleries and seafood restaurants in abundance.

Situated on the French Mediterranean coast, an hour north of the Spanish border, the premium residence Horizon Golf (main image picture) is the latest property to open under the Pierre & Vacances brand. Set in Saint-Cyprien, seven miles from Perpignan, the four-star residence consists of 43 modern one and two bedroom apartments, each featuring full kitchen facilities and a balcony or terrace. The property, which is in walking distance of the beach, benefits from a heated outdoor pool, sauna, a cardio training space, onsite supermarket, bar, and restaurant serving an array of local and international cuisine. Opening in April, the residence is just a stone’s throw from the par-73 international golf course. Design by duo Tomlinson and Wright, and officially inaugurated in 1976, the course is regarded as one for the most formidable in southern France and has played host to several prestigious tournaments, including pre-qualifying events for the European Tour.

Pierre & Vacances has recently acquired and renovated residence La Voile d’Or, the only tourist accommodation on the tranquil, car-free Brittany island of Île-aux-Moines (Monks Island) in north west France. Also opening in April, the pretty three-star property has 48 apartments, ranging from studio to three-bedroom units, and features a heated outdoor pool. A short walk from a vibrant market that takes place three times a week, residence La Voile d’Or is a perfect base for those wanting to discover the whole islands on foot or on two wheels, with the option to hire bicycles directly from the property. Île-aux-Moines has five beaches to explore, and for anyone wanting to venture further, boats can take holidaymakers out into the Gulf of Morbihan or to the rugged islands of Houat and Hoëdic. An ideal flight-free getaway option, the residence can be reached in under three hours by car from the port of Saint-Malo, which has regular ferry services from Portsmouth.

During these uncertain times, the safety, and the financial protection of all its guests remains the top priority of Pierre & Vacances. As such, the operator has been working hard to ensure that all those that can travel in 2021, will have a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience. Special Covid-19 practices have been introduced at all locations, including the provision of hand-sanitiser for staff and guests, increased cleaning and disinfecting processes, and the updating of hotel ventilation systems. And with fully equipped apartments and many hotel rooms that feature fitted kitchens, there is no need to worry about social distancing when it comes to eating and socialising.

Travellers can book their Pierre & Vacances holiday with peace mind thanks to a Flexible Rate option. It entitles guests to a full refund on their entire stay when they cancel up to three days in advance of their trip for any reason, for travel until 29 July 2021. And should Covid-19 restrictions force a cancellation, holidaymakers will have the option to change the date of their stay or opt for 100% of their money back.
