Sporting events

37th Kitzbüheler Alpenrallye – 05 – 08 June 2024
As with all events held in Kitzbühel, the “Kitzbüheler Alpenrallye” classic car rally takes place in a beautiful setting amidst the stunning mountains landscapes in and around Kitzbühel. This year, the Alpine rally will take place between 5 – 8 June 2024. This event attracts a multitude of classic car enthusiasts to Kitzbühel and offers them the opportunity to showcase and admire their elegant vehicles. The participants in the rally are tasked with conquering 600 km of challenging mountain roads and can choose to either race to the finish line or enjoy a more relaxing jaunt. Only vehicles dating back to before 1975 can enter. A selection of the finest classic cars from both the pre and post-war periods, including rare models from many major brands such as Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, Ferrari, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, Aston Martin, and Rolls Royce, are showcased at the Alpine rally every year.

Kitzbühel Triathlon 14 – 16 June 2024
This summer will see the return of the annual triathlon in Kitzbühel, where top European athletes will compete for medals in the Gamsstadt. From 14 – 16 June 2024, the annual triathlon weekend will take place at the Schwarzsee in Kitzbühel. This year, the programme includes a Europe Triathlon Cup, as well as competitions for amateur athletes. Kids can join the fun with the KitzTRIGames, the youth triathlon. For the elite sportsmen, the Kitzbühel Triathlon Weekend starts on Friday, with the qualification race. The final races will take place on Saturday. With 23 nations across Europe competing, as well as triathletes from Australia, Canada, Japan, the USA, and New Zealand, this is set to be an action-packed weekend.

21st Golf Festival Kitzbühel – 23-30 June 2024
Embark on a week-long celebration of sports, games, and enjoyment at the 21st Golf Festival Kitzbühel. With gourmet cuisine, Austrian winemakers, and the thrilling “Golf the Streif” on June 27, the festival promises an unforgettable fusion of luxury and adventure.

 Kitzbühel Cycling Marathon 08 September 2024
The Kitzbühel Cycling Marathon will return for the fourth edition on 8 September 2024. With a total distance of 216 km, and reaching an altitude of 4,600 metres, the marathon is a challenge for every cyclist. This year, the route will remain the same, but a second ending has been added so riders can choose to finish at the Kitzbüheler Vorderstadt and avoid the Kitzbühel Horn. Registration to take part in the marathon is priced from €119 / £102 pp.

Cultural events

Kitzbühel Klassik and Classical Music in the Alps
For the 11th consecutive year, on July 6, 2024, the enchanting event “Classical Music in the Alps” will take place, featuring opera star Elīna Garanča. The atmospheric program, an enthusiastic audience, and an unmistakable mountain panorama make the evening a unique experience for both artists and spectators.

Prior to the grand performance by Elīna Garanča, the city will host young “Voices of the Future.” From July 3 to 5, 2024, emerging opera talents from the Opernstudio of the Vienna Volksoper will use Kitzbühel as their stage, presenting their talent through captivating concerts at Kitzbühel Klassik in Stadtpark. Admission to these performances is free, offering a delightful cultural experience to the community.

Pura Vida Kitzbühel 04 July – 22 August 2024
PURA VIDA is a creative cultural and culinary event that takes place every Thursday in July and August. Take part in yoga in the park, watch street artists perform or sample some classic Tyrolean food and drink. All activities included in the PURA VIDA programme are free of charge.

Film festival Kitzbühel 19 – 25 August 2024
From 19 – 25 August 2024, Kitzbühel will once again transform into a bustling hub for filmmakers hailing from every corner of the globe. The Kitzbühel Film Festival, established in 2013, is dedicated to nurturing and showcasing both national and international talents, offering them a platform to showcase their films to a vast audience, industry experts, and members of the press. At the core of the Film Festival Kitzbühel lies a simple yet powerful idea encapsulated in three words: young, creative, and diverse. Since its inception, the festival has championed the works of young directors, providing them with a platform to unveil their inaugural cinematic endeavours. The festival welcomes a myriad of cinematic expressions, spanning the spectrum from contemporary to traditional, subtle to overt, and executed in various formats ranging from Super 8 to 35mm. 

KITZ Kulinarik 30 – 31 August 2024
KITZ Kulinarik combines traditional dishes with innovative interpretations to create a masterclass of high-quality local products, committed restauranteurs, mountain hut owners and producers. More than 20 restauranteurs from Kitzbühel and the surrounding area will come together to transform the historic town centre into a food festival on the last weekend in October. The festival is free to attend.
