Spring is just around the corner and with it brings a whole host of skiing events in the Alps to get excited about. As the days get longer and brighter, skiers can experience what the Alps have to offer while being spoilt rotten back at VIP SKI’s chalets.

The girlie getaway
From Monday 7th March, this week is all about the ladies. The Morzine Loves Women week in the Portes du Soleil ski area will see women flock to the resort for some well deserved pampering. In addition to skiing to their hearts’ content, ladies can take part in a selection of workshops such as Yoga, Tai-Chi and Qi-gong to mentally and physically relax themselves while away. Feel-good festival break
After the success of Snowboxx festival last year, this alpine music festival is back and has found a new centre stage. This year skiers and revellers will head to Avoriaz where they will discover the ’Snowboxx Village’ in the heart of this modern, car-free resort. From 12th March, Snowboxx promises an entire week of impressive acts, top tunes and sensational après ski.
For a luxury festival experience, Snowboxx goers can stay in one of VIP SKI’s three brand new penthouse apartments from £1,089pp. No. 1 Penthouse Suite offers three en suite bedrooms which all have flat screen TVs and sleeps 6-7 while couples will enjoy an intimate stay in No. 2 Penthouse Suite which sleeps 4. Spectate and ski
From 27th February, freeride fanatics can watch and admire the 120 riders who will take part in the Bruson Freeride contest in the Verbier region. Freeride skiers and snowboarders will compete on two runs down the steep faces and mixed rocky terrain of Six-Blanc and Pointe de Sesal under the watchful eyes of the judges. The post-competition Yeti Party will take place in Le Châble and is certainly not to be missed. Spectators can stay in VIP SKI’s Refuge Darbay in Verbier from £1,139pp arriving 21st February. Family fun and friendly competition for kids
Les Cristaux, taking place in the family-friendly resort of Alpe d’Huez, will provide children with a chance to compete in downhill, slalom and cross-country races throughout the first weekend of March. Brothers, sisters and school friends aged 4-12 years old can take part in this friendly rivalry which will encourage them to develop their skiing abilities from a young age.
