VIP SKI Launches New POP UP Cookery Course in France

VIP SKI has launched two, one week courses at a pop up cookery school in the heart of the Alps for this summer.

One thing is certain: the world of food never stands still. Whether it’s to do with food fashion, food prices, food on holiday, or what’s on the allotment. With local food, global food, food festivals, food politics or GM crops – you name it; food remains the most debated topic of our time.

Food enthusiasts should head to Morzine now for a VIP SKI masterclass, not only does it offer an amazing range of different skills to learn, but a platform for looking at what all of this means to us too. One of the highlights includes learning to make the full UK Christmas dinner from scratch, one of the trickiest juggling days of the year.

With over 25 years’ experience creating boutique luxury chalets, and a reputation for delivering impeccable food and service to discerning skiers, VIP SKI is well placed to train up-and-coming newbie cooks.

Replace cramped beaches with uncrowded mountains, swap snowboards for skateboards and skis for mountain bikes and you’ll start to get the idea of a summer holiday at altitude.

The course is run in the French Alpine resort of Morzine in one of VIP SKI’s luxury chalets, replete with hot tub. It’s delivered and designed to teach the realities and challenges of running a home kitchen to entertain.

The practical cooking sessions develop the necessary skills and techniques required to cook a seven menu with flair. Alongside the basic skills and hosting tips, cooks will explore the principles of food preparation, menu planning and how ingredients work together. They will also learn about kitchen hygiene, baking, catering for dietary requirements and how to pull off the perfect Christmas Day (the nemesis of all).  There will be a maximum of 6 participants in any session to ensure everyone receives the attention and support they require to progress within the relaxed alpine environment.

Andy Sturt, owner of VIP SKI added: “Our cookery courses will teach aspiring cooks the fine arts of hosting and provide a platform to practice the skills they require for approaching life. If they have the confidence and know-how to create fantastic meals and deliver them smoothly from the start, people can concentrate on really enjoying their time in the kitchen. There is no better way to prepare for a menu at Christmas than at altitude and the skills learnt will make candidates great cooks for life.”

Prices start from £645 per person in a shared twin room or £745 for single occupancy of a double room. Courses run for a week and are available on two dates in 2015: departing Sunday 30 August and 14 September. The price includes 7 nights’ accommodation in the Morzine luxury chalet, all meals and wine with dinner (dinner not provided on one night off), return resort transfer from Geneva airport, all food for practical cooking sessions, a cheese and wine tasting night and one afternoon activity e.g. white water rafting. Flights are not included. For more information or to book visit www.vip-chalets.com or call 0844 557 3119.
