The Hills are Alive with Summer Activities in the Alps

Aside from the popular hiking and biking routes in the Alps, guests staying with VIP Chalets will discover the range of exciting summer activities available in the mountains.

This summer VIP Chalets will open seven chalets in Morzine including Chalet Kenai, Chalet Nevada and Little Lumi, one in Les Gets and five chalets in Alpe d’Huez. These three resorts are ideal locations for summer holidays in the mountains, and the chalets provide excellent retreats for families, groups or couples looking for a short break or a week away.

All the chalets are conveniently located so guests have easy access to everything on offer in the Alps. VIP Chalets can offer self-catered, B&B or half board options to suit guests’ requirements and resort staff will be on hand every day to ensure that guests get the very most out of their stay.

High wires for high flyers in Les Gets
Kids, teens and adults can get to grips with challenging yet thrilling adventures in the alpine forests of Les Gets as they try “accrobranche”: an obstacle course constructed among the trees where holidaymakers of all ages can let their sense of adventure run wild. Those that wish to take part will be securely harnessed with a belay as they negotiate their way through the various obstacles on the course.

Kayaking on Lake Montriond
Just around the corner from VIP Chalets’ accommodation in Morzine and Les Gets, Montriond’s canoe and kayak club rents out kayaks, stand up paddle boards and canoes in Lake Montriond’s stunning and preserved setting. Families and friends of all ages will enjoy the refreshing paddle through the cool waters of the lake in this tranquil location.

Fly high in Alpe d’Huez
With paragliding, flying and helicopter sight-seeing tours all available to experience in and around Alpe d’Huez, VIP Chalets’ not-so-vertiginous guests will be in their absolute element. Those who wish to view the steep glacier of the Sarenne from above, can sit back and observe the scenery from the comfort of a shared or private helicopter sight-seeing tour. Those who want a more hands-on, adventurous flight can learn to fly a light aircraft at Ecole de Vol Montagne (EVM) in Alpe d’Huez or they can cross the blue bird sky in a parachute, microlight or hang glider.

Enjoy a bird’s eye view of Portes du Soleil
VIP Chalets’ guests staying in Morzine and Les Gets can see their surroundings from a new perspective as they fly through the clouds over the verdant resort of Portes du Soleil, lying comfortably in a harness. All of this is possible on the Fantasticable which enables holidaymakers to fly along at almost 100 km/h (60 mph) at up to 240m above the hamlet of Plaine-Dranse. They can even fly in pairs, enabling couples to experience these spectacular views together.

VIP Chalets are available to book for a minimum of three nights except Alaska Lodge in Morzine and Altitude Lodge in Les Gets which are available for one and two night stays. Prices for room bookings start from £70 per night while whole chalet bookings start from £165 per night. For more information visit www.vip-chalets.com  or call 0208 875 1957
