Pierre & Vacances opens Presqu’île de la Touques: its first 5* Premium Residence by the sea

This summer, holidaymakers can step into the Belle Epoque when they stay at Pierre & Vacances’ brand-new premium residence, which sits between the vibrant French coastal towns of Deauville and Trouville in Normandy, Northern France. Only a short distance from the UK, Presqu’île de la Touques will open on 18 May 2018, and will welcome British families, couples and groups of friends, who will join the wave of exuberant Parisians who already frequent the charming seaside towns.

In chic Deauville, a grand casino, white sandy beach and a catalogue of exquisite restaurants are all dusted with Belle Epoque sophistication. The annual American Film Festival, and series of renowned horse-racing events at the Hippodrome Deauville-La Touques, serve to embellish an already glamorous coastal town, that rivals the likes of Cannes on the south coast, and La Rochelle on the west. All year-round visitors to Deauville can admire the impressive boats at the marina, take a gentle stroll along the boardwalk, or pass the time with some up-market shopping.

Then there is Trouville, an authentic seaside commune that existed long before the conception of Deauville in the 1800s. Trouville is one of France’s original coastal resorts, whose stylish villas have attracted artists and emperors, but whose lively fishing port has preserved a down-to-earth and family-friendly atmosphere. Galleries and seafood restaurants are abundant in the town, but for most, it is the wide and welcoming beach that remains a highlight. By canoe, bike, or tourist train, visitors to the region would be wise to dedicate their time to exploring this gem on the Côte Fleurie.

The pair complement each other beautifully, and whilst Normandy’s Calvados region offers a great many other fascinating towns, Deauville and Trouville are both within a 10-minute walk from the ideally-located Presqu’île de la Touques. The station is even closer, just 300 metres from the entrance, and opens up historical attractions such as the Bayeux tapestry and WWII museums in the nearby area.

Premium Residence Presqu’île de la Touques is Pierre & Vacances’ first 5* accommodation by the sea. It is a new-build residence designed by architect Xavier Bohl, in keeping with the region’s half-timbered style that dates back to the 1800s. Inside, there are 133 bright and spacious apartments with one to three bedrooms. Each apartment has been contemporarily decorated in warm neutral tones with hints of seaside charm and has a balcony or terrace, in addition to a well-equipped, open-plan kitchen and homely living area.

After working up a sweat in the cardio training space, guests can pamper themselves with a treatment on-site at the 300m2 Deep Nature Spa® or take a leisurely swim in either the indoor or outdoor pool which is heated all year round. Children can choose between the designated paddling pool and the play area.

A seven-night self-catered stay at Presqu’île de la Touques, from 31 August 2018, costs from £902 for a standard two-bedroom apartment sleeping six.

A seven-night self-catered stay at Presqu’île de la Touques, from 10 November 2018, costs from £590 for a standard one-bedroom apartment sleeping four.
