Love skiing? Love food? Love wine? Then you’re going to Love VIP SKI’s Wine Week

We all know the perfect recipe for a successful ski holiday – a large portion of piste action, a hearty helping of delectable culinary dishes, and of course, a sizeable splash of wine to wash it all down. Sound tempting? Looking for a post-Christmas pick-me-up, or perhaps a special Valentine’s treat, join VIP SKI in Val d’Isere this February for a week of ultimate indulgence: world-renowned skiing, an unforgettable wine-tasting experience from VIP SKI’s Master Sommelier and a selection of exquisite foods concocted by our executive chefs, all for your delight and delectation.

Wine lovers can sample some unique flavours, all carefully selected by Master Sommelier Xavier Rousset, who in 2002 became the youngest Master Sommelier in the world. Xavier will join guests in Val d’Isere to share his passion, unrivalled knowledge and expert advice on all things wine. As the host of the first wine tasting, which will take place in the convivial atmosphere of Aspen Lodge, Xavier will be on hand to explain the unique qualities of his selection – which includes traditional claret and a burgundy from VIP SKI’s newly upgraded wine list.

Later in the week guests can enjoy a second wine tasting session, hosted by a local wine expert and featuring various different varieties of “Vins de Savoie”.

Fully-fledged foodies are in for a gastronomic treat. Throughout the week, the dedicated chalet host will dazzle guests with tantalising cuisine and superb service, and on one evening, VIP SKI’s executive chef will serve a mouth-watering menu, accompanied by wine featured in the earlier tasting with Xavier. It promises to be an unforgettable evening.

And as the perfect antidote to those post-holiday blues, following the week in Val d’Isere, Xavier invites all guests to a wine-tasting evening in his acclaimed “28-50” bar and restaurant in the heart of Mayfair, London. Featuring some surprising New World wines, it’s sure to kindle some fond holiday memories. And, if that isn’t enough to whet your appetite, following the wine tasting, guests are invited to sample some of the delicious cuisine created by Executive Chef Ben Mellor. One taste of Ben’s classic-yet-innovative French bistro style dishes and  be transported back to Val d’Isere.

Guests on the gastro-ski adventure will stay in VIP SKI’s exclusive Aspen Lodge, right in the heart of Val d’Isere and only 250m from the ski lifts and nursery slopes. Val d’Isere is known as “skiing’s peak of perfection” and for good reason.  There are 300km of piste, limitless skiing opportunities for all levels and some exhilarating off-piste routes – all set in stunning scenery, making Val d’Isere one of the world’s most revered skiing destinations.

VIP SKI’s chalets are the epitome of opulence. Each is entirely independent, with its own living and dining area and a dedicated chalet host. A select few even have private hot tubs. The main reception lounge is perfectly equipped for decadence, with an open fire, giant cinema screen, pool table, complimentary internet screens, draft beer and coffee bar, and three communal hot tubs on the terrace to the rear of the property. Included is the return air travel between Geneva, with coach transfers to and from resort. What better location to indulge the senses?

Join VIP SKI for the week commencing February 8, 2015. The seven-night package includes two wine tasting evenings in the Aspen Lodge, Val d’Isere, and platinum service dinner on one evening accompanied by specially selected upgraded wines. There is also the dinner and wine tasting evening at ‘’28-50’’ bar and restaurant in the heart of London’s Mayfair.
