European Snowsport Ski School

Expert ski tuition for every budget with European Snowsport

European Snowsport ski school opens for its 13th season this winter, offering group and private lessons in Verbier, Zermatt, St Moritz and Chamonix as well as a new concept in ski tuition – its drop-in ‘Coaching Zone’ in Verbier.

The team pride themselves on customer service, doing all they can to delight customers. Going above and beyond the typical remit of a ski school, they regularly provide an instructor within 30 minutes of a request for a private lesson, help a skier to select new ski gear or recommend the best restaurant for dinner.

A private lesson with European Snowsport isn’t one size fits all. The team match the client with an instructor based on what they want to get out of the lesson and then, following a meeting or call the day before, tailor the lesson based on the client’s past skiing experience and confidence. The instructor meets the client at their accommodation to help them get ready for the day and, in car free Zermatt, European Snowsport provides an electric taxi to take skiers to the slopes when they book a full day private lesson – making the start of their day that bit easier.

For those who enjoy a more social skiing experience, group lessons are the ideal choice. European Snowsport won’t accept more than six in a class meaning that clients benefit from more in-depth tuition. Penguin classes for three to five year olds have a maximum of five in a class and are taught by dedicated kids instructors who are experienced in ensuring children learn in a safe but fun way. Six to 12 year olds ski in the Kids’ Academy where they take part in races and ski progressions with an awards ceremony and goodie bags at the end of the week. Teens and pre-teens enjoy freeride, freestyle, park, piste skiing and moguls. All children’s lessons include lunches at mountain restaurants.

The business is constantly evolving, with the team looking for the next idea that can enhance a skier’s holiday. For 2016/17, the new concept is its ‘Coaching Zone’ – a membership pass which gives flexible and affordable access to ‘drop-in’ ski tuition on the slopes of Verbier. Valid from a day to a season, skiers can stop by for a few quick tips or spend longer skiing in the zone taking advice from the expert instructors.

Julian Griffiths, founder of European Snowsport, explains why the school is so popular: “Many of our customers come back year after year to learn with us. Our staff tend to stay with us for many years and customers get to know them well and enjoy learning with them – in fact, they are very loyal to their own individual instructor.”
